Phang Nga Bay is located approximately 800 kilometers from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. It is a bay in the Andaman Sea between the Island of Phuket and the mainland of the Malay Peninsula of Southern Thailand with an area of 400 Sq. Kms. A unique feature of Phang Nga Bay is the sheer limestone cliffs that stand vertically out of the green water. The distinctive islands, cliffs, collapsed caves and archaeological sites of Phang Nga Bay make it one of the favorite tourist destinations of Asia.

James Bond Island:

In the Phang Nga Bay, there is a famous islet called Koh Tapu. It's also known as James Bond Island. Koh Tapu is around 20 meters tall steep rocky monolith. This natural structure lies about 200 meters offshore of the two-islet pair known as Koh Khao Phingkan. It became a popular tourist attraction since it was featured in the famous James Bond movie “The Man with the Golden Gun” in 1974. Another James Bond movie “Tomorrow Never Dies” in 1997 also includes a scene in Phang Nga Bay, close to the James Bond Island. The capricious rock mountains, weird coral reefs, and scenic beauty of the island attract many visitors to this popular James Bond Island.

Phang Nga National Park:

This national park is a natural home to different kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and mammals. You can find here 82 types of birds such as little heron, little egret, Pacific reef-egret, etc. and 18 types of reptiles such as Siamese box terrapin, Pseudoxenodon macrops (Blyth), etc. Amphibians such as Rana cancrivora, R. Limnocharis, Rhaco phorusleuystax, etc. and fish such as Butterfly fish, Puffer fish, Moray eels, and hammer-head sharks are also found in this Phang Nga Bay.
